we shall run on the path of God's commandments, our hearts overflowing with the inexpressible delight of love

Daily Office:

Evening Prayers……….

CW Evening Prayer:
As our evening prayer rises before you, O God,so may your mercy come down upon us to cleanse our hearts and set us free to sing your praise now and for ever.

Compline:

The Lord almighty grant us a quiet night
and a perfect end.

Keep me as the apple of an eye.
Hide me under the shadow of thy wings.

Save us, O Lord, while waking,
and guard us while sleeping,

that awake we may watch with Christ

and asleep may rest in peace. Alleluia.

Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace according to thy word.
For mine eyes have seenthy salvation;
Which thou hast prepared :
before the face of all people;
To be a light to lighten the Gentiles :
and to be the glory of thy people Israel.

Be present, O merciful God, and protect us through the silent hours of this night,
so that we who are wearied
by the changes and chances of this fleeting world, may repose upon thy eternal changelessness;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

May the risen Lord Jesus bless us.
May he watch over us and renew us
 as he renews the whole of creation.
 May our hearts and lives echo his love. Amen

Into thy hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit.

John Phillip Newell:
May the grace of the night's stillness be mine,
may the grace of the moon's guidance be mine,
to renew my soul in sleep
to enlighten my dreams in the night
to open my spirit to eternity
until the angels of light awaken me
until the morning angels awaken me.

In the busyness of this day
grant me a stillness of seeing, O God.
In the conflicting voices of my heart
grant me a calmness of hearing.
let my seeing and hearing
my words and my actions
be rooted in a silent certainty of your presence.
Let my passions for life
and the longings for justice that stir within me
be grounded in the experience of your stillness.
let my life be rooted in the ground of your peace, O God,
let me be rooted in the depths of your peace.

Morning prayers………

CW Daily Office:

As we rejoice in the gift of this new day,
so may the light of your presence, O God,
set our hearts on fire with love for you;
now and for ever. Amen

Mary Sumner

All this day, O Lord,
let me touch as many lives as possible for you,
and every life I touch, by your spirit quicken,
whether through the word I speak,
the prayer I breathe,
or the life I live.  Amen

 Holy Island:

Great Spirit, Wild Goose of the Almighty
Be my eye in the dark places
Be my flight in the trapped places
Be my host in the wild places
Be my formation in the lost places
Be my haven in the barren places
